The restaurant features a large show kitchen with a wood-burning pizza oven and a glass wine case with a boutique wine selection from Toscana, Veneto, Sicilia and Umbria. The wall finishings are composed of decorative earth-tone bricks and an impressive wooden carved panel at the restaurant entrance. Square One is a large, atmospheric restaurant featuring simple and authentic Vietnamese and Western cuisine offered from one menu while seated anywhere in the restaurant.

Cooking Class at Park Hyatt Saigon

Perhaps more than any other Asian cuisine, the diversity of Vietnamese food becomes the highlight of a trip to Ho Chi Minh City and indeed Park Hyatt Saigon. To make this journey a memorable one the culinary team of Park Hyatt Saigon under the guidance of Executive Chef, Mr. Massimiliano Ziano will take its guests on a culinary journey into Square One, Park Hyatt Saigon’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant.

Nguyen Ngoc Hien, Executive Sous Chef at Park Hyatt Saigon will be awaiting the culinary students in the Lobby of the hotel to invite them for a short trip to a local market. The team will buy the basic ingredients of Vietnamese cuisine and experience the hustle and bustle of downtown Saigon.

Upon their return to the hotel and equipped with custom made aprons, our Chefs will welcome the culinary students with freshly squeezed sugar can juice. After a short introduction of the five show kitchens, namely Seafood and Appetizer kitchen, Vietnamese Steam, Wok and Grill, Western Grill, Dessert kitchen and Juice and Tea counter the first ingredients will be already prepared to start the culinary journey. Accompanied by Vietnamese tunes, traditional Vietnamese dishes will be cooked in the following 1.5 hours. From Fresh Spring Rolls, Fried Seafood Spring Rolls, Lotus Stem Salad to Sweet and Sour Seafood Soup and Fried Garoupa. All these mouth-watering dishes will be prepared in the open kitchens - served 100% authentic and real yet in a simple way.

All details, large and small, are carefully attended to by a highly talented and experienced team to create a unique experience.

And if the exquisite selection of Vietnamese traditional dishes were not enough, all culinary students will get a recipe folder, Vietnamese cookbook and Park Hyatt Saigon apron to continue back home what they have learned in Vietnam.
